Wild Trails & Summits
Ngu Chi Son is one of the most unique mountains near Sapa, famous for its dramatic rock formations that resemble five fingers reaching into the sky — the meaning behind its name, “Ngu Chi Son” or “Five Finger Mountain.” This striking shape makes the mountain stand out from the surrounding peaks and creates a landscape that feels both powerful and mysterious, especially when the ridges appear through clouds and early morning mist.
What makes Ngu Chi Son truly special is the raw beauty of its wild slopes, deep forests, and open mountain views. The journey to the summit is filled with changing scenery, from quiet jungle trails to exposed ridgelines with breathtaking panoramas over the Hoang Lien Son range. At sunrise, the mountain becomes even more magical, with light falling across its unusual peaks and creating one of the most memorable trekking views in northern Vietnam.
