Day 1: Mu Cang Chai Half-Day Trekking Tour
8:00 AM: We will pick you up from Agribank Mu Cang Chai, Mu Cang Chai Bus Station, or any hotel/location in Mu Cang Chai Town or La Pan Tan. Please wait at the hotel entrance 5 minutes before your scheduled pickup time.
Start your trek to the iconic spots:
- Mam Xoi Hill: The signature rice-terrace viewpoint of Mu Cang Chai, known for its perfectly curved layers and panoramic scenery.
- Hau De Waterfall: A secluded waterfall hidden deep in the forest, ideal for a refreshing break and full nature immersion.
11:00 AM: We will drop you off at your hotel in the Mu Cang Chai or La Pan Tan area. End of your trip!

What should I prepare for the trekking tour?
You should bring comfortable trekking or sports shoes with good grip, lightweight clothing suitable for mountain weather, a rain jacket, hat, sunscreen, a refillable water bottle, and a small backpack.
Can I bring large luggage on the tour?
We recommend bringing a small daypack for trekking. Larger luggage can be stored at the Homestay in Mu Cang Chai during the trek.
When is the best time to do the Mu Cang Chai trekking tour?
The best time to visit is from September to early October, during the golden rice harvest season. Another great time is May to June, known as the water-pouring season, when the rice terraces are filled and ideal for photography and trekking.
Other than rice harvest season, when can I also trekking in Mu Cang Chai?
You could visit Mu Cang Chai during the green rice season. From June to September, Mu Cang Chai offers a peaceful charm with lush green terraced fields stretching from valleys to hillsides. This is when the rice grows strongly after transplanting, covering the highlands with a vibrant green carpet. Fewer crowds and festivals create a tranquil trekking experience, where curved terraces blend with clouds and morning dew, making every step a moment to linger.
